Rosaline (film)
''Rosaline'' is a 2022 American romantic comedy film directed by Karen Maine, written by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, and starring Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, Kyle Allen, Sean Teale, Christopher McDonald, Minnie Driver, and Bradley Whitford. It is based on the 2012 young adult novel ''When You Were Mine'' by Rebecca Serle, which in turn was inspired by William Shakespeare's ''Romeo and Juliet''. The film had its world premiere on October 6, 2022, at the El Capitan Theatre and was released on October 14, 2022, on Hulu in the United States, Disney+ internationally and Star+ in Latin America. Karen Maine (born June 15, 1985) is an American film director and screenwriter known for '' Obvious Child'' and '' Yes, God, Yes''. She graduated from Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts. Career Maine co-wrote the 2014 film ''Obvious Child'' and the 2009 short film it's based on. Maine wrote and directed the 2020 film '' Yes, God, Yes'' starring Natalia Dyer. The film is based on Maine's experiences growing up in Iowa and attending Catholic school for 15 years, where she received a sex-ed curriculum that emphasized not having sex before marriage. ''Yes, God, Yes'' premiered at the 2019 SXSW Film Festival and won a Special Jury Award for Best Ensemble. Ian Hultquist is an American composer and musician. Hultquist is best known for his score for ''The Diabolical'' and for being a founding member of the band Passion Pit. He is also known for his works on movies such as '' Mommy Dead and Dearest'', ''The First Monday in May'', '' My Blind Brother,'' ''Memoria and Dead City.''
